About This Journey

Before children learn to be careful, they learn by being careless — falling, wrestling, testing the world's edges with their bodies. Nasreddin was knocked off his donkey many times and considered each fall a lesson paid for in dignity, which he thought was the best price available. The body that has never been knocked down does not know, in any useful sense, that it can get back up.
