About This Journey

Viktor Frankl's logotherapy holds that the primary human drive is not pleasure or power but meaning — and that meaning can be found even in unavoidable suffering when it is met with the right orientation. The Sutras do not promise the elimination of suffering but the transformation of one's relationship to it through precise understanding (viveka) and non-attachment (vairāgya). Frankl's insight that the last human freedom is the choice of attitude toward conditions beyond one's control is a contemporary expression of an ancient recognition.
