Code-Switching as Intellectual Strategy

Sor Juana's life was an exercise in code-switching: she moved between Spanish (the language of colonial power and her literary work), Latin (the language of Church authority and intellectual legitimacy), and Nahuatl (the language of indigenous Mexico). Rather than seeing this as fragmentation, her example shows code-switching as strategic intelligence.
