Standpoint epistemology

Standpoint epistemology argues that people living under oppression or marginalization actually have special access to truth about how power works, because they must navigate systems designed against them with clarity that the privileged can avoid. It does not mean marginalized people are infallible, but that discounting their knowledge and analysis because of their position is epistemically foolish—it means you lose access to what they see.
