Utilitarianism

Utilitarianism judges actions by their consequences, arguing that the right choice maximizes overall happiness or well-being—a seductive logic that can justify enormous harm to minorities if it benefits the majority. Its strength as a moral tool is also its danger: it can rationalize any injustice if the math seems to work out.
