Grief rituals

Grief rituals—whether inherited from tradition or created yourself—give the body permission to express what words cannot and mark the threshold between before and after. A ritual does not heal grief, but it witnesses it, contains it for a moment, and tells your nervous system that what happened is real and is acknowledged.
