This witness is not a judge asking us to justify our rage or hurry our grief. It simply observes and honors. Practically, this might mean: sitting in meditation, addressing the divine, and speaking your rage and grief aloud as if to someone who truly sees you. Mirabai did this through song and dance. The witness practice sanctifies the unseen parts of ourselves, the rage we hide, the grief we minimize. Before a sacred witness, we can finally be real.
