Cosmic Foolishness

Cosmic Foolishness inverts human importance by positioning us as the universe briefly achieving self-awareness—a genuine miracle rendered absurd by our delusions of centrality. Nasreddin appears small and often thwarted, yet his smallness grants him perspective the great lack. When we genuinely internalize the scale of cosmic reality—billions of galaxies, billions of stars per galaxy, our solar system's ordinariness, our species' recent emergence—we access a spiritual experience. We are fools in a cosmic drama, minor characters in an unimaginably vast story. Yet this foolishness is where wisdom resides—in accepting that the universe doesn't revolve around us, we find freedom from ego's tyranny.
