Body armoring

Body armoring is the chronic muscular tension that develops in response to emotional threat or overwhelm—held shoulders, clenched jaw, guarded chest. These protective contractions were useful once; releasing them requires patience, breath, and permission to feel the vulnerability underneath, which allows genuine resilience (not rigidity) to emerge.
