Online courses and completion

Most online courses go incomplete because they lack the friction and community that make learning costly enough to matter—your brain doesn't consolidate what requires no effort to abandon. Finishing one requires either internal motivation so strong you need no external support, or deliberate design choices (small commitments, peer accountability, immediate application) that make quitting harder than continuing.
