Samadhi as Mathematical Insight and Unity

Samadhi, the state of complete absorption and unity between observer and observed, describes the mathematician's experience of breakthrough insight. When a complex problem suddenly resolves into elegant simplicity, consciousness and mathematical truth merge—the hallmark of samadhi. Patanjali describes samadhi as the ultimate goal where subject-object duality dissolves; mathematicians experience this when a unified principle explains seemingly unrelated phenomena.
