The three gunas

The three gunas—sattva (clarity and harmony), rajas (activity and agitation), and tamas (inertia and delusion)—describe the three fundamental qualities of nature and mind in Indian philosophy. Observing which guna dominates in your thinking, mood, and choices at any moment gives you a language for why you feel stuck, scattered, or clear, and suggests which practices (stillness for rajas, activation for tamas, integration for sattva) will rebalance you.
