Devotion Without Expectation of Return

Rabia al-Adawiyya's devotion to the Divine was famously free from desire for reward or fear of punishment. This same principle transforms belonging: when community members serve each other without keeping score, grace enters the space. Devotion without expectation means caring for someone's wellbeing even when they cannot repay you, supporting causes larger than personal gain, and celebrating others' victories as your own.
