Perceiving the sacred essence in each community member, which dissolves separation and creates unity.
Central to Rabia's teaching was the recognition that the Divine dwells within all beings. Applied to community, this becomes the practice of perceiving the sacred in others—their intrinsic worth beyond their usefulness or likability. This perception fundamentally shifts belonging: when we genuinely recognize divinity in another person, we cannot diminish them, exclude them, or treat them as means to our ends. This doesn't require religious belief; it is a psychological orientation toward inherent human dignity. Communities where members practice this recognition experience less conflict, more compassion, and remarkable inclusivity. The person struggling with addiction, the outsider, the difficult personality—all are seen as worthy of belonging. This recognition creates conditions where joy blooms because people experience genuine dignity. It answers the deepest human question: Am I worthy simply by existing?
