Rabia's teachings survive because disciples actively stewarded and transmitted her legacy. Legacy Stewardship in modern communities means establishing explicit practices for cultural transmission. This includes documenting origin stories, codifying core values, creating mentorship pathways, and designating legacy keepers. Communities with strong stewardship maintain coherence across member transitions and expansion. Young communities often fail because they don't invest in this until too late. Intentional Legacy Stewardship involves identifying which practices, stories, and values must be preserved, then creating roles and rituals to ensure transmission. This gives long-term members purpose and newer members connection to something larger.
