Love as Foundation for Community

Rabia al-Adawiyya taught that love transcends fear and obligation, emerging as pure devotion without expectation of reward or punishment. In community building, this principle transforms how we relate to others—shifting from self-interest to genuine care for collective flourishing. When community members approach each other with mahabbah rather than utility, bonds deepen and trust becomes authentic.
