Love as the Foundation of Gathering

Rabia al-Adawiyya taught that love must be pure, untainted by fear of punishment or desire for reward. When building community intentionally, this principle transforms how we gather: not from duty or self-interest, but from authentic devotion to one another's flourishing. In her tradition, community becomes a sacred circle where each person is valued for their intrinsic worth, not their utility. This creates psychological safety and genuine belonging.
