Money and childhood

How children learn about money—whether it's abundant or scarce, something you earn or receive, a tool or a measure of worth—shapes their financial psychology into adulthood in ways that conscious teaching can only partially override. Parents who hide financial stress from kids often produce adults who can't handle it; those who burden kids with adult financial anxiety produce different damage; the hard part is finding honesty calibrated to their actual capacity to understand.
