When community groups face burnout and unequal participation

Our neighborhood mutual aid group worked beautifully during the pandemic when everyone was scared and pulling together, but now that things have stabilized, the same people are doing all the work while others have drifted away, and those of us left are getting resentful and burned out. We're struggling with whether to call people out, scale back, or just let it fade away, and we can't agree on what we even owe each other at this point.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

A group that formed around shared crisis is grappling with how to sustain collective care when the urgency has passed and people's capacity has shifted.
