When couples' spiritual poetry reveals growing distance in their shared devotional practice

My partner and I have been writing devotional poetry to each other for three years, but lately when I read their poems about the divine I feel like they're speaking to something I can't access, and I don't know if the distance is in our spirituality or our relationship. We used to feel like we were reaching toward the same sacred space together, but now their verses feel like they're written from somewhere I've never been.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Two people are discovering that their individual spiritual journeys may be diverging in ways that their shared creative practice is making painfully visible.
