My dad and I used to bond over learning new skills together, but now he's convinced he's too old to try new things and I've gotten busy with my career. When we do spend time together we just rehash old stories instead of creating new ones, and I can see him shrinking his world while I'm not sure how to invite him back into curiosity without being patronizing.
