When families stop playing together as children grow up

My kids are teenagers now and our family time has become this series of logistics meetings and negotiations and I realize we haven't played together or been genuinely silly in years and I don't know if that's just what happens or if we're missing something important.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Families often abandon play as children age, not recognizing that shared joy needs to evolve rather than disappear.
