When couples lose their ability to play together

My partner and I used to build elaborate blanket forts and have whole conversations in silly voices and now when we try to be playful it feels forced and we both just end up on our phones. We can't figure out when we stopped being ridiculous together or how to get back to that place where we could just be completely unselfconscious.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

The natural playfulness that once bonded you has calcified into performance, and neither of you knows how to return to genuine silliness together.
