How to maintain playful learning bonds as children become teenagers

My teenage daughter and I used to build things together — LEGO sets, puzzles, craft projects — and we'd get completely absorbed in the process, but now she's too old for 'kid stuff' and I don't know how to find new ways for us to enter that focused, collaborative state. We both seem to miss it but can't figure out what the grown-up version looks like.
