When study groups split between intellectual and experiential spiritual approaches

Our book club chose to study Shinto concepts but half of us approach it intellectually while the other half want to actually practice and embody the ideas, and our discussions have become awkward because some people share personal spiritual experiences while others just want to analyze the philosophy. We're not sure if we're a study group or a practice group anymore.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Different approaches to engaging with spiritual material are fragmenting a group's shared exploration.
