When friend groups become too serious about winning and competence

Our friend group used to have these amazing game nights where we'd try new board games and everyone would be terrible at them and it was hilarious, but now when we get together everyone wants to stick to what they know they're good at. I feel like we've lost our willingness to be silly and stumble through things together.
