When siblings have different approaches to fostering wonder in children

My brother and I are both trying to raise our kids with more curiosity and less prescribed answers, but our approaches are so different that family gatherings have become tense - his kids think mine are 'weird' for asking so many questions, and I worry his kids are being shut down when they wonder about things. We're both defensive about our parenting but we want the cousins to stay close.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Family bonds are strained when different philosophies about nurturing curiosity create judgment and defensiveness between parents.
