When parents and teens both struggle with mental health

My teenage daughter and I both have depression and we're seeing different therapists but living in the same house and I can't tell when I'm modeling healthy coping versus when we're both just surviving our separate storms under the same roof. Sometimes I think my honesty about my struggles helps her feel less alone and sometimes I worry I'm making it harder for her to believe things can get better.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Two people at different life stages are trying to heal while navigating the complex dynamics of care, modeling, and mutual influence within an inherent power imbalance.
