When interfaith groups avoid difficult translations between belief systems

Our interfaith dialogue group has been meeting for two years but lately we're realizing that we've been translating our different traditions into the same generic spiritual language instead of actually grappling with real differences. It feels safer but also dishonest, and some of us want to go deeper while others are scared we'll lose the harmony we've built.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

A group is discovering that their attempts to find common ground have led them to avoid the very differences that could deepen their understanding of each other.
