When grassroots community projects outgrow their original space and create conflict

My best friend and I started a community tool library in my garage three years ago and it's grown so much that my neighbors are complaining about the traffic but we can't find anywhere else to put it. We never expected it to get this big and now we're facing the choice of shutting down something the whole neighborhood depends on or dealing with increasing hostility from the people who live closest to us.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Two friends are caught between the success of their community service and the unintended consequences of that success on their immediate neighbors.
