When Muslim friend groups split over activism versus spiritual response to global crises

My closest friends and I have been part of the same Muslim community for years, but we're realizing we have fundamentally different views about how to engage with current global crises affecting Muslims — some of us want to focus on local charity and prayer, others are pushing for political activism, and it's creating this tension where we're starting to question each other's faith and commitment. We used to feel so aligned in our values and now every conversation about what's happening in Palestine, Kashmir, or with refugees feels like it might fracture something precious between us.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

The weight of witnessing suffering in the global ummah is revealing different understandings of faithful response, threatening bonds that once felt unshakeable.
