When adult children avoid planning for aging parents

My parents are getting older and my siblings and I live in different cities, but we've never talked about what happens when they need more help or what their wishes actually are. We all just assume someone else will figure it out when the time comes, but I'm starting to realize that's not a plan and we're running out of time to have these conversations while they're still healthy.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

The family is collectively procrastinating on decisions that will become crisis-driven if left unaddressed.
