Scenario

When community members have different comfort levels with being educational resources

Our neighborhood book club is all white women except for me and my neighbor who's also Latina, and they keep picking books about immigration trauma and looking at us expectantly during discussions like we're supposed to be their cultural translators. My neighbor seems fine with it but it makes my skin crawl.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

The burden of representation distributed unequally, creating tension between those who embrace the teaching role and those who resist it.
