When parents disagree about helping an outsider child find belonging

Our teenage daughter has never fit in anywhere and we've always told her that's okay and that different is good but now she's talking about not going to college because 'what's the point' and my partner and I are realizing we might have failed her by not teaching her how to find her people.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Parents who celebrated their child's uniqueness are facing the reality that outsider status without community can become isolation and despair.
