How do I build deep enough knowledge to add real insight at work?

You feel like you know your sector on the surface but not deeply enough to say something that others find genuinely useful. Talk to the people who have been in it a long time and ask them why, not just what. Real insight in one place will teach you how to find it everywhere. You are not lacking intelligence. You are early in the digging, and depth rewards those who keep asking why.
