How do I create real change when people resist it?
You can run the programs; you know how the work is meant to go. What defeats you is the resistance, the tiredness, the slow drag of trying to move something real in people who would rather it stayed the same. That is not a sign you are failing at the work. It is a sign you are doing the hardest version of it, the version where you are pushing against a current, not floating with it. Here is what is worth holding: real change was never going to be quick or grateful. You are trying to shift how a group of people think and act, and people do not shift easily, especially when the change asks something of them. The resistance is not evidence that change is impossible. It is simply the shape that change takes while it is still happening. Nothing that matters moves without friction. So protect yourself by measuring in the right units. Do not weigh yourself against the finished goal, which will always leave you drained and short. Find the one real thing that moved this month, one person who shifted, one practice that stuck, and let that count. Genuine change is made of those small, hard-won pieces, and if you cannot see them, the fatigue will tell you there was no progress when there was.
