You know the pharmacy stock cold. Nothing slips past you, and because of that, everything runs smoothly, so smoothly that no one notices. The resentment you feel about being invisible and undervalued is fair. Reliability is one of the most needed and least thanked things there is. The cruel logic of it is this. Your reliability is noticed only in its absence. As long as you keep everything right, there is nothing to point at, no crisis, no scramble, no story. Your excellence erases the very evidence of itself. That does not mean it is not valued at some level; it means it is easy to take for granted. Since the recognition will not reliably come to you, do two things. Hold your own clear sense of your worth, and do not let silence convince you it is not real. And where you can, make a little of your value visible, mention the shortage you caught early, the error you prevented. You keep this place standing. At the very least, never let yourself forget that, even on the days no one else says it.
