How do I forecast my deals more accurately?
You keep your pipeline clean, which puts you ahead of most. But clean data and accurate calls are not the same thing. You can have every field filled in and still misread which deals will land, because closing is about people, and people are harder to read than fields. The honesty a good forecast needs is about yourself. Most misses come from wanting a deal to close so much that you count the customer's politeness as commitment. Learn the difference between a buyer who likes you and a buyer who is going to sign. One nods along. The other is doing the work to buy. For each deal you call this quarter, write one line: what has the customer actually done to prove they will buy. Not said, done. If the answer is thin, lower your confidence no matter how good the meeting felt. Your forecast gets accurate the moment you stop grading on hope.
