How do I get competing stakeholders to align when it feels overwhelming?

When everyone wants something different and they all want it from you, the whole thing can feel like a knot you will never untie. The overwhelm comes from trying to solve it all at once, in your head, as one giant problem. It is not one problem. It is many small ones wearing a single scary mask. You do not align people by force or by clever argument. You align them by finding the one thing they already share, even if it is buried. Almost always there is a common goal underneath the competing wants. Your job is to find that shared ground and keep pointing everyone back to it. Start by writing down what each person actually wants, in their own words, on one page. Seeing it laid out shrinks the knot. Then look for the overlap and name it out loud to them. You will not get perfect agreement, and you do not need it. You need enough common ground for the next step. Find that, and take it.
