How do I get customers when I'm just starting out?

The empty room is the hardest part, and nearly everyone who now has a full one started exactly where you are. Not knowing how to get customers does not mean you cannot. It means you have not yet found the few people who need what you offer and told them plainly. Forget clever marketing for now. Start with the simplest thing: go to where your kind of customer already is, tell them clearly what you do and how it helps, and ask for the chance to serve them. Talk to real people, one at a time. Your first customers usually come from conversations, not campaigns. One step today: make a short list of people who might need what you offer, or who know someone who does, and reach out to one of them directly. It will feel awkward. Do it anyway. A business begins with one customer, and that one begins with one honest ask.
