How do I get unstuck from a dead-end survival job?
Feeling stuck with no path in sight is one of the heaviest feelings there is, because it makes the future look like a wall instead of a road. But stuck is a feeling, not a fact. Right now you cannot see the way out, and that is different from there being no way out. Start by picking one thing about your situation you can change, however small. Maybe it is learning a skill an hour at a time, or talking to someone in work you would rather do, or saving a little to buy yourself room. You are not trying to fix your whole life today. You are trying to prove to yourself that you can move one inch, because one inch breaks the spell of being trapped. The job you are in does not define what you are capable of. It is where you are, not who you are. Many people have stood exactly where you stand and climbed out, not in one leap but in a hundred small steps taken when they were tired. Take the first one. Then take another. That is how walls turn back into roads.
