How do I go from building an AI demo to a real system?

A demo and a real system are different animals, and the leap between them is where many capable people stall. A demo has to work once, for you, on a good day. A real system has to work again and again, for strangers, on the worst day. That gap is not about intelligence. It is about a whole set of concerns the demo let you ignore. The things that felt optional now become the work: what happens when input is garbage, when traffic spikes, when a part fails, when it costs too much, when someone misuses it. Architecture is mostly the discipline of taking those seriously before they bite you. Take your demo and ask one hard question: what breaks first when a hundred real people use this at once? Chase that answer and fix it. Then ask again. A real system is built by facing failure on purpose, one honest weakness at a time.
