How do I handle complicated patient cases that stump me?

You have earned real skill. Most patients, you can read and help. What is left are the hard ones, the tangled cases where several things overlap and no clean answer appears. Those are supposed to be hard. They trip up people with far more years than you. The mistake is thinking the complex case should feel as clear as the simple one. It never will. With comorbid patients, you are not looking for one right answer, you are holding several possibilities at once and testing them patiently. Uncertainty is part of doing it well, not a sign you are failing. Next time a complex case stumps you, slow down and write out what you do know and what you do not, then bring it to one colleague. Naming the gap out loud shrinks it. You do not have to see the whole picture alone. The hardest cases are how you grow past where you are now.
