How do I improve the whole operation, not just my part?

You have already learned to make your own area run well. That is the foundation, and it is not nothing. Seeing across the whole operation is a different and harder skill, and the reason it eludes you is simple: you can only fix what you can see, and much of the operation happens where you are not standing. The move from your corner to the whole floor starts with curiosity about the parts you do not touch. Where does the work come from before it reaches you? Where does it go after? The bottlenecks that matter most usually sit in the handoffs between areas, not inside any one of them. Pick one process that crosses your area and follow it end to end, talking to the people at each step. You will see waste that no single person could spot alone. Start there. Improving the whole thing is just improving your area, repeated, with a wider pair of eyes.
