How do I keep going when I win but the fight never ends?

You can take on any system for the people you serve, and you win. But each win is one case, and the next day there is another, and another. The victories are real, yet the war never ends, and that grind has worn you down. This is a particular kind of tired, the tiredness of winning and still facing the same wall tomorrow. What you are feeling is not failure. It is the honest cost of caring in a broken system. One person cannot fix what is wrong at the root, so you fix it one life at a time, and each of those lives matters completely to the person living it. That is not small, even when it feels endless. Because the work will not end, you have to let yourself stop and rest inside it. Take the breaks. Mark the wins, even briefly, before moving on. And ask whether some of your energy could go toward the root, teaching others or changing one rule, so you are not the only one carrying it. You cannot pour from empty. Tend to yourself as fiercely as you tend to them.
