How do I know what tasks to hand off to others?
You have learned you can delegate; you are past the point of clutching everything. What still trips you is the judgment of it, which tasks to hand off and how to hand them well. That is the real skill, harder than simply letting go. Letting go is a decision. Choosing what to release, and setting the other person up to succeed, is a craft you are still building. A useful way to sort it: some tasks only you can do, because they need your specific judgment or authority, and some tasks merely feel that way out of habit. Most of what clogs your days is the second kind. The question is not could I do this better than them, because you often could. It is does this actually need me, or does it just need doing. So look at your work this week and find one task that does not truly require you, only your time. Hand that one off, and be clear about what done looks like so the person can actually carry it. Start with the low-stakes ones where a stumble costs little. You do not learn what to delegate by thinking about it. You learn it by handing off one thing at a time and watching what happens.
