How do I reconnect after trading made me too emotionally numb?
You reached the thing every trader chases: total control, no flinch, no tilt. But you are noticing the price. The same wall that keeps the market from rattling you has quietly gone up around the rest of your life, and things that should move you no longer do. That awareness is a good sign. Numbness that notices itself is not yet permanent. Detachment is a tool, and like any tool it does not know where to stop unless you tell it. It was meant for the screen, for the hours when feeling would cost you. Somewhere it stopped clocking out. The fix is not to become emotional at the desk. It is to let yourself feel fully when you leave it. Draw a hard line between the two worlds. When you close the trading day, do one thing that requires you to feel: talk to someone you love without an agenda, sit with music, be somewhere that used to move you. Practice feeling on purpose, off the clock. The control served you. Now teach it to stay at the desk where it belongs.
