I chased prestige and ended up somewhere I do not want to be. Now what?
You did what you were taught to do. The good school, the respected firm, the title people nod at. Prestige is a clear, easy measure, and you followed it faithfully. The trouble is that it measures how a choice looks from the outside, not how it feels to live inside. So you optimized for the wrong thing, honestly and without noticing, like many capable people do. Here is what matters: you are not trapped by the years you spent. The credentials are real and they are yours. What you get to change now is the criterion. Instead of asking what looks impressive, start asking what you actually want your days to contain, what work you would do even if no one clapped. That question is quieter, and it points somewhere truer. Take one small honest step. Write down two or three things about your current life that you would keep no matter what, and two or three you followed only for the prestige. Just seeing them separated on paper starts to loosen prestige's grip. You chose by one measure for a long time. You are allowed to choose by a better one now.
