I look confident as a leader but I doubt myself constantly

On the outside you carry authority. People look to you and see someone who knows the way. On the inside you often wonder if you are the right person, if the calls are right, if you are even pointed in the right direction. That gap between the two is heavier than most people guess. Here is what steadies it: the doubt is not a flaw in your leading. It is part of it. The leaders who frighten me are the ones who never question themselves. Your uncertainty is you taking the weight seriously, checking your own thinking, staying honest about what you cannot see. Certainty would make you worse, not better. You will rarely feel sure, so stop waiting for that feeling. Decide with the best information you have, stay open to being wrong, and correct as you go. That is not weakness pretending to be strength. That is what real strength has always looked like from the inside.
