Should I be afraid of AI that can write?

When something new can do part of what you do, the mind jumps to two easy places: it's nothing, or it's the end. Both let you off the hook from actually looking at it. The truth is calmer and more useful. It is a tool that is good at some things and empty at others. It can produce words quickly. It cannot want to say something. It has no stake, no memory of a real morning, no reason to care whether a line lands. Readers still hunger for a human on the other side. What you have that it lacks is not speed. It is that you mean it. Instead of dismissing it or dreading it, spend an hour using it plainly. See where it helps and where it falls flat. Fear shrinks when you handle the thing directly. You will come away knowing exactly what is still yours to do, which is most of what matters.
